Have
you seen 'Team America?'
I
can't actually hear you, but yeah. This was a shittier version of
that. This is the 'Family Guy' to it's 'South Park', the 2002
'Carrie' to it's 1976 'Carrie'. The 2013 'Carrie to it's 1976
'Carrie'.
It
included the occasional chuckle, and the two main characters were fun
together (and I guess likeable, in a hateable sort of a way). It
works best when it doesn't try to be anything more than what it is -
a dumb comedy.
I
thought they were going to be smart and make Kim out to just be a
laid back misunderstood guy, and make it a whole joke about America
tricking them into trying to kill him, but nah. It ends in a big
shootout, when he's exposed to be an evil dictator (seriously, was
that meant to be a plot twist? I don't understand what this movie want me to be thinking right now).
It
was watchable though, and the soundtrack was pretty good (I'm
thinking more of Original Don rather than Katy Perry here). The back
and forth was often funny, if ridiculously low-brow, and I found
myself laughing surprisedly at the finger biting scene (if you're
wondering what that sounded like, it was sort of a “haha? Heh...”)
I can't really think of much else to say about this, so I'll wrap up. I feel like I should have watched it drunk; it's that sort of film. I remember there being a lot of controversy when it came out, but I don't really see why - it's not really good enough to be controversial, really. It's shit, and I guess it's offensive, (when and why should that be a problem?) but it's nothing at all new.

"You know what's more destructive than a nuclear bomb? Words."
