Plebbles: The Trojan Testament

So I watched this with/for a friend, and after the first 14 minutes she said "do you know what the rest of this film is going to be like...? This" (as she indicated one of many monotonous scenes of pebble tossing bar talk). I didn't realise at the time how accurate that prediction would be.

'Plebbles: The Trojan Testament' is a Scottish mockumentary about a rock skimming competition on an island. Four minutes' worth of content is stretched to over an hour with the help of a combination of bullshit and nonsense. I detect high levels of piss-takery throughout, the comedic value of which is dulled by almost 'Chroma Distoma' levels of apparent cinematographic incompetence.
I wasn't pulled in at all for the first 40 minutes, which felt like an eternity. I found the second half more enjoyable as the competition reached its conclusion and I got into the habit of taking regular naps.
