RoboCop 2

God do I hate kids.

Movies are almost always ruined when they start pandering to them, and the 'RoboCop' series is no exception. It's not totally ruined yet, but one of the main villains is a child.

The violence is also somewhat toned down – no guy getting literally shot to pieces or melting in this one, and in the most potentially gross scenes the camera isn't on the gore for long. I'm not that into gore for the sake of it, but I think it's absence here takes some of the feeling of the original. There are still the usual cutaways to adverts etc. and the world isn't totally ruined, but this film is little more than a slightly less effective re-tread of the original.
There's still the third one, which I suppose I should talk about, but the franchise has basically lost it's spark at this point.
