Not horrendous, but pretty eye-rolling. I wouldn't advise watching it unless you really want to watch every action movie ever. It follows Dwayne Johnson, Billy Bob Thornton (who is awesome as always), and Oliver Jackson-Cohen. They are a guy whos let out of prison to go on a revenge spree, a cop, and an assassin, respectively. Now and then there's some action, which I don't think was that bad, but there's also far far far too much family background crap. The movie also gives off quite strong smells of wing wingery, with it's view of abortion, mass gun ownership, and repetitive clunky religious references (and this is American right wingery, so imagine David Cameron with a sprinkling of Hitler).
I wasn't really paying much attention to this. I was half cut, to be honest, but it was at least engaging enough to keep me from changing the channel (and '8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown' was on). Two of the three leads were alright, and Billy was a little better than alright (though he's been cast better in other movies). Dwayne did as well as could be expected of the dense fool, and Oliver acted alright for a model. East Asian cinema do revenge flicks better, but it was a decent try, if rather one note.
The twist was alright, but without it the movie would have sucked, and I felt that the ultimate conclusion was pretty dumb.
