Sinister

We like to boogie.
We like to boogie.
We like to boogie.
On Saturday night.

Another run of the mill jumpy horror with a one word title. 'Sinister' lives up to it's name, though this could have been just as easily achieved if the entire film consisted of a left handed guy writing a letter. Sure the villain is fairly nice to look at, but the plot is on par with most B grade 'X Files' episodes (and as a further blow, it lacks the subtle charms of Fox and Dana).

She does not like to boogie.
The soundtrack is excellent, to be fair. The rickety, clunking sounds build the tension well, without being used too often as to become boring. The intro was also great, though sadly it built up my expectations.
Unfortunately the other thing that was clunky was the product placement, which supplied the chuckle that the goofy police officer failed too (it's not funny that squirrels have feet. Is the joke that he thought they might sound like a person's footsteps? That's just stupid, and doesn't fit in with his later character, which is all over the place). Mr Boogie (sadly we didn't ever get to see him dance) also got his own lame fictional history that was rife with pretty basic inaccuracies.
That they died at the end was good, though. I rarely like writers anyway.
