The Rise

Also known as 'Wasteland' for some reason, it starts slow, but the banter between this group of friends is believable. They're kind of like older, slightly cooler, more working class 'Inbetweeners'. An interrogation is used as a framing for the Harvey's tale, which is basically: he gets set up by a drug dealer, he gets out a year later, he tries to rob the drug dealer.

Park life.
Mostly good acting, and a few great actors in this one. It helps that the dialogue is (mostly) well written, and that the situations are believable, as is the romance, though it did little for me. One of my favourites was a scene that opens with a possible 'Goodfellas' homage, where the camera tracks two men through a building for an extended period while music plays.
Unfortunately the writing falls a little flat towards the end, when a clunky metaphor is used, about a football player who looks like Harvey being let down by his team (as he was by his friends). It ends a little happily for me too, and I don't believe he would take such a huge risk as to secretly tell the inspector everything on the tape, but you're left with a pleasant feeling.
